Do not tie together with non-believers!

Many years ago I was taken back by a friends legalistic view of the Bible when he said he

felt it was just there to keep people in check, and did not believe in it's teachings. This was a

gentleman that I used to hang around with, and a fellow musician. A few weeks ago, my wife,

and daughter  and I were sitting dining at restaurant we like to frequent. while we were just

enjoying our time there together, I happen to look up, and noticed someone who I hadn't seen

in quite some time. I told my wife who it was, and she had to take a second look. It was him.

A few years back he became very upset at us for  witnessing about Christ. From that point

forward we hadn't seen of one another. He never noticed me, and I couldn't decide if he was

ignoring me, or not.

After our dining experience I went over and spoke to them, and we all sat and visited. He and

his wife both stated they did not notice me, that I looked familiar from afar, but could not make

out who I was. I hadn't seen him in 5 years or better, but didn't think my features changed that

much. I believe after studying the scriptures that God was protecting me from sin.

We hear the term antichrist, and we tend to think of the one who will come and deceive many

during the 7 year tribulation, but there are many antichrists among us today, and throughout

history. In 2 John we read; Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in

the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the antichrist. That's a lot of food for

thought. How many people do you know that may fit this description?  These are people we

are warned to stay away from as Christians.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 reads ‘Do not be yoked with unbelievers. For what do righteousness, and

wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony

is there between Christ, and Belial?'

What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

We are admonished to not befriend an unbeliever who does not uphold the word of Jesus

Christ and his teachings!

If we read further in this subject we find another warning in 2 John 10-11 which says; If anyone

comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do

not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

While we are to witness to others about Jesus Christ, and help bring them to Him for a saving

salvation, if they are not willing to welcome His teaching, we must dust them off like the dust

on our feet. You've done your work, and planted a seed.
