The Advisory known as satan is always looking to bring you away from God into the worldly, and
once you get in the will of God and in obedience, he will throw his fiery darts your way. So the
first thing we need is discernment which we get from His Holy Spirit. The moment we accept
Christ into our hearts we receive His Holy Spirit which stays with us always. This was Jesus’
promise that he would never leave us, and His way of communicating to us while He is in Heaven.
The good news is that with the Holy Spirit we have an escape of the temptations that come
our way. There is free will that God gives us, and from there we have a choice to either give
in to temptation, or take the escape route to please God, and follow Him. I'm not going to tell
you that it's always an easy task, but I can tell you that the more you get to know Jesus, and
His will for your life, the more you grow in your relationship, and learn of His character, the less
you will want to get out of step with Him.
First we need to access what is worldly, and what is of God. It states in (1 John 4-5) They are
from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.
Does this have a familiar ring to it? Logical thinking, tangiblness, do what you feel is right, all
these are worldly points of view, and also the way satan loves to dangle the carrot in front of you.
These things are anything that satisfies the carnal flesh, but remember these are only temporary,
and that doing God's will and service to Him, brings everlasting Joy, and Gifts that are stored
for us in eternity.
Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LIONS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE
BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE
PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; In addition to all, taking up the shield of faith
with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE
HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians
Once we realize that it's not us but The Holy Spirit who helps us, we realize we have the greater
strength over anything this world can do or offer.
